Camouflage has been around for a long time. Having been developed by the French, camouflage was initially utilized within a military capacity during World Was I. The British Army was the first to adopt camouflage as a uniform when two British Napoleonic War skirmishing units wore green camo rifle jackets. The modern military camouflage of today is actually rooted in the avant garde cubist movement popularized by Pablo Picasso during the early 20th century. One wonders what Picasso would have thought about that!
In recent times, camouflage has crossed over from its association with the military to being its own fashion statement stripped of political or militaristic overtones. People wear camouflage now simply because they like how it looks. This makes sense when considering that camouflage mimics certain animal adaptations in the wild.
There are a couple of different kinds of camouflage. These include color changing, countershading, and disruptive coloration. All of these versions have been utilized in a number of fashion forward garments including camo wedding shoes and camo formal dresses. A particularly trendy clothing item at the moment is camo bathing suits for girls.
Camo bathing suits for girls come in one piece maillots and two piece bikinis. As well, there are skirted camo bathing suits for girls, high waisted camo bathing suits for girls, and strapless camo bathing suits for girls. So to do these bathing suits come in a number of different colors, including pink camouflage! What little girl would not love a pink camo bathing suit for girls? You can bet that your daughter will put that on her Christmas list this year!
I think men look particularly hot wearing camouflage. I have never thought about it, though, for female fashion. I guess it could be attractive depending on the cut and so forth.
